General Description: 

Share your IT experience and interest in learning web design by workting with the current Co-Webmaster for A.T. Vista who is an experienced web developer with 25 plus years of experience. Ideally, this assistant or co chair would be the webmaster at  the next A.T. Vista. This way of learning how the system works passes “corporate memory” to the next conference who then recruits the next generation webmaster.


Run the website for the conference. 

  • General IT background
  • Previous experience with working on websites a plus.
  • Experience working with Drupal and CiviCRM a big plus.
Specific Tasks: 
  • Manage all aspects of the website
    • Contract for: Host selection, Domain renewals, Email providers, Payment processors
    • Keeping code up-to-date with security and bug fixes
    • Migrate site as needed to newer versions of software
    • Develop new features as needed by the Committee Chairs. May involve contracting out for specific features.
  • Document the procedures so that chairs can do most of the content management.
  • Train others to do content management
    • Last resort - do content management for those who can't learn how to do it.
  • Check new content for technical correctness and fix if necessary
  • Provide input to the website budget

After conference

  • Write report
  • Learn how a modern website is managed from an experienced web developer
  • Learn how to develop, manage, and configure a Drupal/CiviCRM based website
  • Become responsible for the next A.T. Vista conference
Coordinates with: 
  • All committee chairs
  • Registrar
  • Social Media Coordinator
  • Anyone editing web pages
  • Website hosting company
Time Line: 
  • Bring up a save the date page as soon as that date is known
  • Ongoing throughout the conference adjust the pages as more information is known
  • Monthly (or sooner if necessary for security) apply system upates
  • Monthly update steering committee on site analytics
  • Immediately after conference pass the baton to the next webmaster
  • September write final report
