Camping Coordinator

General Description: 

Being able to camp at previous ATC biennial conferences was a way for conference goers to reduce costs and still attend the conference. Be the person who continues that amenity for A.T. Vista; tent camping will be done at private campgrounds near SUNY New Paltz. RV camping will be available at SUNY New Paltz (without hookups). This volunteer will find campground hosts. You will work with the On-Site Committee Chair; it is highly recommended that you read the camping report from the 2007 conference.

Objective: 

Make arrangements for tent camping, recreational vehicle (RV) parking.

Skills: 
  • Ability to to delegate and to troubleshoot
Specific Tasks: 
  • While running the Conference
    • Track own hours
    • Present and monitor budget
    • Keep on-site Committee Chair up to date
    • Before Conference
    • Read report from 2007 conference. 
    • Write content for web and publications
    • Contract and arrange for portable toilets
    • Arrange access for showers
    • Assign campground hosts to help troubleshoot
  • At Conference
    • Manage campground
  • After Conference
    • write report

Time Line: 
  • Early spring of the year of the conference - Finalize arrangements for RV camping.
  • April to May of the year of the conference - Monitor registration to anticipate necessary alterations and provide information to Publications coordinator for the on-site program booklet
  • Meeting week- Oversee operations, resolve problems
  • September of the year of the conference - Final Report Due
